BCU Ba(Hons) Architecture

Introducing BAA Student Ambassador and BCU Ba(Hons) Architecture student, Albakar Mukadam.

As architects and designers, we aim to create spaces and physical fabrics that benefit not only the people using the facilities but also the wider context, including the climate. The climate is certainly a hot topic within the architectural world, and rightfully so – More merit should be given to Passivhaus trusts.

Besides the climate talk, I would also like to see a change towards more inclusive designs. Due to the mass effect of globalization and migration to the UK, the needs of the demographic have evolved, and architecture needs to respond to these changes – the lack of prayer/worship spaces within shopping centers and commercial buildings does not reflect the users of those spaces.
