“Birmingham School of Architecture and Design welcomes the BAA-led initiative for Student Ambassadors. Studying architecture can be a challenging pursuit at the best of times, and in these uncertain circumstances this kind of support from and of the wider professional and creative community is appreciated.

The School has a vibrant and committed student and staff community, and many of our graduates have gone on to play central roles in the BAA and city, extending that passion as a new generation of critical, inquisitive practitioners. The School is developing and implementing a range of initiatives around the climate crisis, spatial justice and decolonising the curriculum, and this reciprocal arrangement with the BAA via the Student Ambassadors not only offers support in ‘skills’ development, but offers a way of broadening the scope and impact of discussions which might otherwise remain within the institution.

We look forward to working with BAA, our students and wider community of practice.” – Mike Dring BCU

How long does the role last for?

Becoming a BAA Student Ambassador lasts for a year, however continuation of the role will also be considered.
