Dion Barrett – BAA Videographer

Introducing Birmingham Architectural Association Videographer, Dion Barrett.

Dion is an Architect at Birmingham and Leeds-based, AJ100 practice Associated Architects and founder of Studio 50two.

Having Studied in Liverpool for 5 Years, Dion returned to the Midlands and joined Associated Architects in 2015. He has since predominantly worked delivering large scale Educational projects; Royal Holloway University Library, and now the new School of Engineering for the University of Birmingham.

Dion founded Studio 50two with one purpose in mind – to bring to the surface the stories behind our built environment. There are so many great discussions, events and projects happening that often go unnoticed. By filming and sharing these stories he aims to advocate the profession, by bringing the conversations to new audiences.

Dion is passionate about using his skill set as both a Filmmaker and Architect to promote innovation, promote great buildings and promote the profession to other professionals and the public alike. He is keen to collaborate with any practitioners in the built environment and will be working with the BAA to continue to publicise the exceptional work that we do.

Outside of Architecture, Dion is an experienced Kickboxer and Instructor, having won multiple British titles and representing Great Britain at European and World Championships.
