Rob Nield

Introducing Birmingham Architectural Association Collaborator and Structural Engineer, Rob Nield.

Rob is a structural engineer with a passion for creating innovative, efficient and elegant structures having designed projects ranging from stone staircases and timber pavilions to city centre towers, railway stations and airports.  

Having started his career with Arup, where he was brought up on the philosophy of ‘Total Design’ he now leads the Webb Yates Birmingham office based in the Jewellery Quarter where he promotes a collaborative and inventive approach to engineering.

He strongly believes that all buildings should be designed with sustainability in mind, making best use of finite resources and believes that the industry must challenge the status quo in order to innovate.
